The Charly hat is a unisex hat. It is worked in the round from the ribbing to the top of the hat, where you will be making decreases. The stitches are cast on using the italian cast-on method to create a neat cast-on edge. However, the italian cast-on can be skipped if you want to make the Charly hat as a beginner project.
The Charly hat is the perfect gift idea. It has a very neutral and basic look, and is designed to fit many different head sizes. Therefore, you can make it as a gift for someone whose head circumference you may not know. The hat can be made in 2 different versions: one with mohair and one without mohair. This way you can choose whether to give the hat a more neutral look without mohair or a more feminine look with mohair.
With the Charly hat, it is easy to make a hat that fits most and allows you to play with the look. It is the perfect basic hat pattern, and it is both easy, quick and cheap to make.
Size guide
The hat is onesize. The rib edge is folded on the middle, and can be folded up further as needed.
The hat is also slightly loose in gauge, providing it with a lot of stretchability. This way the hat can fit many different head sizes.
