Flora Vest Mini is a baby and children’s version of the original Flora Vest. The vest is worked top down using 1 strand of Drops Fiesta. This yarn is superwash treated, making the vest machine washable.
The vest features a bow at the front with no loose ties, as the bow is sewn together. It is fastened with a snap button, which is sewn on.
The pattern is available in sizes from 6 months to 14 years.

Construction
The vest is worked top down. First, the back piece is worked. Stitches are then picked up for the shoulders, which are worked separately before the back and fronts are joined. The rest of the vest is then worked back and forth.
An I-cord is worked along the bottom of the vest, as well as around the armholes and along the front edges. Finally, the bow is made and attached at the front.

Recommended needles and materials
Circular needles 4 mm 60 and 80/100 cm for stockinette stitch.
2 double pointed needles 3,5 mm or circular needles 3,5 mm for i-cords and the bow.
Sewing needle and sewing thread (preferably in a matching colour).
20 mm snap fastener buttons.
Tapestry needle.
Knitting gauge
The Flora vest mini has a gauge of 10x10 cm on 20 stitches x 28 rows in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles.
Remember to make a gauge swatch before you begin, to ensure you are using the correct needle size to achieve the gauge.
